get outside with another mother runner :: train like a mother {giveaway}

For those that know me, you know that I am a runner.  I love to run.  And with a few set-backs and bumps along my road, I am still a runner.  (If you would like to read a little more about my journey, head over HERE!  I have a whole section on my personal blog talking about my journey as well as my 1st Marathon as well as my surgeries.)

I am a runner because of great resources that I can add to my arsenal of “support”.  Running is as much mental as it is physical for me.  I was thrilled beyond belief when the first book Run Like a Mother was released.  I reviewed this on SIMPLE before too – if you want to read about that one you can find it HERE!

Today I have Train Like a Mother in front of me – watching me – telling me to get out of my house and run! 🙂   Well, not really…but it does say this on the cover:

How to Get Across Any Finish Line – and Not Lose Your Family, Job or Sanity.

How applicable to many, right?  In this book I found many fantastic things.  It is not just a book for “mother runners”.  It is applicable to life really.  Fully living the life you want to live!

The stories in this book are real, from real people.  It talks about fitting your goals into your current life.  I applied this to my running goals, but you can apply it to so much more.  Whatever context you need really.

It’s just plain funny and applicable to so many who want more than just the “average” life.  You need a copy.  Period.

    I honestly believe anyone can run! I started running at age 30 for the first time. I trained with the Couch to 5K and 7 weeks later I ran my first 5K. It makes me feel better about myself when I run, but it puts me in a better mood for the rest of my day too! I would have said in the past, “if you see me running, there must be something I’m running from that is really serious.” Now I love it! I don’t get to run more than 2x’s per week, but I’ll take what I can get.

    Sounds like a great book! I will have to check it out.
