a “sweet” mother’s day DIY gift with DOVE chocolates

Mother’s Day is next weekend! Have you found that perfect giver yet? No? No worries! I have the perfect gift to please any mom, grandma, or aunt!

Handmade? Check! Includes chocolates? Check! Features your adorable kids? Check! And to top it all off, it’s super easy to make and inexpensive. I know! It’s like I just told you that you can have your cake and eat it, too!

So, let’s get started!

what you will need ::

  • picture frame — I found some perfect crafting frames at Michael’s for $1 each! Crafting frames are perfect because we’re covering them up!
  • picture of your kids that fits the frame
  • glue dots
  • stickers or embellishments
  • DOVE® Dark Chocolate PROMISES®

what to do ::

  1. Carefully unwrap several DOVE Dark Chocolate PROMISES and flatten the foil wrappers. My 4×6 frame required about 10 foils. Now, you’ll notice that means you’ll have about 10 PROMISES setting their, unwrapped, beckoning to you. Go ahead. Eat one or two. So good! Ok, one more. Now wash up your hands and get back to work!
    note :: DOVE Dark Chocolate PROMISES come in four different kinds — Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate, Silky Smooth Almond Dark Chocolate, Silky Smooth Mint & Dark Chocolate Swirl, and Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Carmel. I like to call that last one “heaven”. Each flavor comes in different colored foil wrapper. It’s totally up to you which color or kind you use! Mix them up however you like!
  2. Place glue dots on your frame and begin covering the frame with the flattened DOVE foils. Use all the same color or make a pattern. Whatever suits your fancy. I used a piece of plain foil at the bottom of our frame because it worked best with the stickers we were using.
  3. After your frame is covered, add your stickers or embellishments. I found these cute “grandma” themed stickers at Michael’s that included a “grandmas make life sweeter” sticker. Perfect! Then, using a few glue dots, I added a few DOVE Dark Chocolate PROMISES to the corners for a little added texture and color.
  4. Add that super adorable picture of your kids to the frame!
  5. Wrap it up! Oh, and add some extra DOVE Dark Chocolate PROMISES or DOVE Dark Chocolate bars to your gift bag/box for some added sweetness. You can never go wrong with more chocolate!

Done! A perfectly sweet gift that mom, grandma, or auntie will adore!

And, if you didn’t already finish off the remaining chocolates, you can totally bust out another frame or two or three for all the “moms” in your life. But, if those chocolates happen to be gone by now, no worries…I’m sure they’ll love some flowers, too!

Happy Mother’s Day!
