a simple diy :: moonshine soap dispenser

On our vacation to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee we went to Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine for my father-in-law. While we were there we decided to try all of their flavors to get a bottle for ourselves. You pay five dollars to sample twelve different flavors. The moonshine is distilled and bottled by Ole Smoky Distillery, LLC in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I’ve never been partial to moonshine until I tried their Ole Smoky Salty Caramel Whiskey last fall, and I then I wanted to see what other flavors they had. My favorite flavor of all was their Ole Smoky Some Beach.  This is the empty jar that I upcycled into a soap dispenser.  This past spring my children broke my matching soap dispenser and I haven’t replaced it yet.  I thought this was a simple DIY Moonshine Soap Dispenser.

Supplies:

  • Empty bottle of moonshine or a mason jar
  • 1/2 inch spade drill bit
  • An old soap dispenser pump
  • Drill

Step 1: First you need to finish off your moonshine and wash it by hand thoroughly.

Step 2: You need a 1/2 inch spade drill bit to drill a hole the size of your inner soap dispenser pump.  You may have to use a different size depending on how large your pump is.  The hole should just be large enough to fit the pump in.

Step 3: Now place your pump in the hole and fill your empty moonshine jar with soap and you are ready to wash your hands.

This is a great way to for us to remember our trip to the smoky mountains.  Not only is it a souvenir from our trip, but a great way to upcycle or recycle a used jar.  I hate to waste anything that could be reused in a new way.  The Ole Smoky Some Beach jar matched my decor perfectly.
