planetmonkey_logoI knew I hit a significant parenting milestone when the same beloved toys from my youth were now being marketed to my kids. Call it a comeback or complete marketing genius, but toy makers knew exactly what they were doing when they resurrected some of our childhood favorites. Appealing to nostalgia while giving the kids of today an updated version of some awesome characters!

One of those classic favorites who have taken on a whole new persona is the Sock Monkey! Patch Products‘ new Planet Sock Monkey, the classic sock monkey has taken on six new {and very distinct} personalities.

From pirate to nerd to rapper to an undead zombie, the Planet Sock Monkeys will appeal to kids of all ages. My tween nieces think they are “retro-hip” {I honestly don’t even know what that means…it’s like they speak a different language at that age} while my 2 year old son thinks Long Sock Silver is his swashbuckling sidekick!

Each monkey is designed to take on their specific persona, matched with their very creative names (see image above), and Patch Products spared no expense in making sure the details fit just right! Magenta Beetsch is tough as nails with her spiked collar necklace and safety pin chain, while M.O.N.K. is kickin’ it old school with his signature boom box. It’s these details that will make kids feel their Planet Sock Monkey is truly unique!

At just $21.99 each and a perfect 10″ tall, Planet Sock Monkeys will definitely be a must-have this Christmas! Especially for those hard-to-shop-for tweens & teens! And when they start to thank you and it sounds like they are speaking in some crazy alphabet code, you know you’ve totally rocked it! OMG! Planet Sock Monkey FTW!
