This week was the week which that little snail that my daughters have been seeing on the television screen came to our house. And he can come to yours now too! Turbo was released this week, November 12th, 2013 and we’ve been laughing along since the first time watching!
From the creators of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda comes a hilarious “fun-fueled family adventure” (Bill Bregoli, CBS Radio News) that proves no dream is too big…and no dreamer too small. When an ordinary snail named Turbo acquires the power of super-speed, his life kicks into overdrive! With the help of a struggling taco stand owner and a streetwise snail crew, Turbo will attempt to race in the Indy 500 and make all their dreams come true.
A quick synopsis, in my opinion, without any spoilers 🙂 Basically, Turbo is a farmer by day and watches Nascar at night when not working. This obviously sparks a dream…and he goes for it! Knowing he is the DEFINITE underdog due to his speed/size/you name it, he has a lot to make of himself. And that he does…
When we got the DVD, that was the first time myself and my family have seen the movie. We did not preview this in the theaters when it was there, so a family movie night was definitely in order! The characters alone in this movie are hysterical, voices are funny, characters are cute…it’s a well rounded family movie that my girls as well as my husband and I enjoyed. There is not a whole lot of sarcasm nor was there bad attitudes that stayed long. In addition, great adult humor that my husband were chuckling along to.
Last thing, hello Ryan Reynolds and your hysterical self! Laughing at him…a lot here! I can just see his face when voicing the character. Funny! Alongside Ryan Reynolds in the cast is Paul Giamatti, Samuel L. Jackson and Richard Jenkins (and more!) too. You guys…such a great movie!!
