Looking at this photo gives me chills.

This photo was on the cover of Boston Magazine and is a photo of actual runners’ shoes from the Boston Marathon. It has been made into a puzzle by Ceaco to benefit One Fund Boston.

This photo  is a touching reminder of the strength and endurance of the human spirit; both the spirit of  runners and the spirit of those runners who acted immediately and selflessly in the face of a tragedy.

When I heard that the runners of the Boston Marathon were veering off course to run to the nearest hospital to donate blood, my heart swelled with pride in humanity. They didn’t run from the tragedy, they ran TOWARDS it. Their spirits shone.

The tragedy in Boston is not one that should EVER be forgotten, because the story contains such a beautiful reminder of how strong and wonderful we, as a species, can be when we act together and act for each other.

This is a limited edition puzzle, which will retail for $10, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit One Fund Boston. I’m planning to mod podge mine after I put it together so I can frame it and hang it next to my elliptical machine for inspiration.

Here’s a quote from the press release I received about this beautiful puzzle:

“When we saw the image of ‘The Shoes We Wore’ on the cover of Boston Magazine, we immediately recognized that the photograph was a beautiful testimonial to the strength of Boston and its people,” says Trudi Lazarus, Ceaco’s Executive Vice President. “I’m honored that we can bring this moving image into people’s homes, while helping to contribute to a cause that honors the bravery of everyone closely affected by the tragedy.”
