a friend in need, a time to pray. an update…

It’s with such sadness that I update you all on the requests for prayers I have been sending out for sweet baby Caitlin. I’m sorry I haven’t updated as often as I would have liked. This hit me so hard. I have been stricken with grief myself FOR this family…

This morning, she met Jesus.

Please, if you are prayerful, please be with this family. Not only today, but any time you think of them. I would love it if this reminded you to pray for them every time you visit our page. 🙂 I can’t imagine the loss in their hearts and minds, the hole left. I pray each day it gets better, although, personally I can’t imagine that. I admire their faith. I pray for their strength. Gah….

In addition to prayers, please consider a donation to help cover the immense amount of medical bills they will be incurring. If all you can give is prayer, please don’t guilt yourself over this. 🙂

The CarePages update from the family…

22 David said, “While the baby was still alive, I fasted, and I cried. I thought, ‘Who knows? Maybe the Lord will feel sorry for me and let the baby live.’ 23 But now that the baby is dead, why should I fast? I can’t bring him back to life. Someday I will go to him, but he cannot come back to me.”

Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that I tell y

ou that this morning Caitlin went to Jesus. She was at peace. She felt no pain; and she hung on longer than any nurse or doctor in the PICU had ever seen.

We are heartbroken and grief stricken as we are home now for the first time since we left nearly a week and a half ago. Things are exactly where we left them and the memory of what was is haunting. We feel a massive hole in our hearts for what we know we will never be able to experience with Caitlin again on this earth.

We are also comforted knowing that she is still here in spirit. We feel her head banging against our chests as she always did. We hear her gentle squeals as she attempts to eat her hands. These are the memories that will be a part of us forever. Yes, there are scars and pain that will never go away. But, we know whose arms she rests in now. He loved her first. She was His daughter

before she was ours. She and Jesus we know will be waiting for both of us at the gate when we arrive there someday.

Thank you for all your prayers. We will continue to need them and draw energy and strength from them each day. Right now we ask for our privacy as we mourn. We will communicate visitation and funeral plans in the coming days. Right now we are looking at Wednesday night visitation and a Thursday morning funeral.

We love you all,
Mike and Shelly

18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

My heart is so sad for them. It’s hard to understand God’s ways but we know it’s all in His perfect plan for us. I will pray often for this family.

I know. I totally agree Ginny. And thank you. I’ve never know “pray without ceasing” to truly until this happened.

We lost our 4 year old Geno, a huge TV fell on him, three years ago. I know it strengthened us, it brought us closer to God. We think of him as God’s gift. I pray God comforts them, and their family. And I will hold them up in prayer.
