In let's go outside

doing what she loves

Last year I was excited to share that my daughter made the high school JV soccer team, but due to COVID she didn’t get a season.  This year she made VARSITY and has played several games.  Their region standing is 1-1 with their third region game tonight.  We were so excited when she was given the jersey number she wanted #11, but soon found out that her away jersey was taken by the previous player and just now have jersey #11 for her away games going into her third region game.  I don’t know about you and your children, but jersey numbers are an important part of our sports history.

In middle school I convinced my daughter to get jersey #11 — she went on to break the leading scored goals for her school in the two years she payed.  This year she has scored three goals, but only when she was wearing #11 not when she wore #21.  Now that she has both of her #11 jerseys we are hoping for a great season.  I have been trying to convince my other children to pick jersey #11 for softball and baseball.

I played VARSITY all four years I was at the same high school that my daughter attends now. It is an absolute joy to see my daughter wearing my number. She says its’s not because it’s my number, but because it is a lucky number. She says its not because it was my number, but because 11 is a lucky number.

Love to watch her doing what she loves!  Hope the team will make it to State this year so she can get the exposure she needs for college recruiting.  Going into her junior I would love for her to have colleges come to her games to watch her play.
