what!! you gained weight? let’s talk about it… {#wwsponsored}

This post was created as part of a relationship in which I was sponsored by Weight Watchers® and given a free three month subscription to try their new Personal Coaching product and write about my experience. Though I was compensated for my time and commitment, all views, positive and negative, are my own. #WeightWatchers #WWsponsored

Weight loss talk. Seems like it’s everywhere! From ads on tv, to spots on the radio to blog posts (err…). Everywhere you turn it seems that you are reading about how you can lose weight. Yet, my goal isn’t necessarily to lose weight these days.

My goal is getting healthy! And that’s what I want to talk to you about today!

In the process of ‘getting healthy’ you may, *gasp*, gain some weight. Yes, it’s going to be all right. Let’s talk about it.

Gaining weight isn’t an end all when you are trying to lose weight. There are many factors that can lead to weight gain in women. setting goalsAnd I’m only going to touch on women today, because, that’s what I am. And I can only talk from personal experience. And, let’s face it, I have enough going on with me that I don’t even want to start trying to figure out what a man does. Ha! So, weight gain. I don’t know about you, but when you are weighing yourself weekly when you are on a ‘weight loss‘ plan, it seems to consume your mind. And the really bad thing about that, it makes you contemplate everything and anything when you don’t see the number go down. Over the last couple months, I have seen it primarily go down, but every now and then it stays the same or goes up. Again, *gasp*. It’s ok. Really.

One of the main reasons I have seen it go up is simply because of my body. I get bloated from time to time or my monthly hormone cycle really messed with my number. Ladies, there is nothing we can do about that. That part is out of our control. For the most part…so, breathe.

You didn’t make the workouts for the week. A choice you have to make on a daily basis. Some weeks are good for it and others are, well, not. That’s been my problem lately. Too many appointments, blog deadlines and oh yah…sick kids. Needless to say, I am saying “tomorrow is another day” often!

Ummmm. Can we say stress? Yup…that will do it too. Oy!

The last one. The one that none of us ever want to admit to. You just ate too much. Or didn’t make good choices.  You ate too many Cheez-it’s and not enough fruits and vegetables. So, it’s done. The scale went up. It’s over now. Don’t beat yourself up. Today is a new day…move forward from here. Weight loss is not an overnight thing. It’s a lifestyle change and sometimes, it’s hard.

One solution that I found really helped me get back on track when I would have a bad week was the Personal Coaching. I know, I have shared about this before, but I have to again. You guys…there is someone available to chat 24/7! They can talk you off the ice cream ledge at 1 am if you need it. They are there for YOU!

Please, don’t give up if you see the number go up. Set your goal and keep that goal in mind. BUT…on a weekly basis, you need to set up a game plan. What I really want to encourage you today with is the game plan. Yes, we want the goal…like, yesterday. But the game plan is what’s going to get you there. Work the plan and the goal will come. It has to. You will get closer week by week when you work the plan and have those little successes.

I’m feeling all mushy now – I love you guys. I want you to succeed. Talk to me, what has been one of your biggest struggles when it comes to weight loss?

    My biggest downfall is either sweets (especially chocolate) and pasta. We have pasta 3+ nights a week because it is so inexpensive and we like it so much.

      Oh yes, I see. Pasta is yummy and is inexpensive. Have you tried making “spaghetti” with a spiralizer or something like that that makes noodles? That’s very yummy too!

    I have the same problem lately. There are to many things planned. It makes it hard to get the workout in. Definitely just have to take it one day at a time though
