Everybody loves to shower a new baby and parents with gifts! When they are at the hospital after delivery, it’s always fun to send a little something to congratulate the new family on their precious bundle! Baby Book Baskets is a unique company, started by Jane, the co-owner of a successful bookstore for 20 years. She has devoted her time now to this business of creating personalized and customized book baskets for many occasions! I loved working with Jane on creating the perfect basket for our little girl when she arrives, as well as some books for big brother too! She really took some extra time to learn about our family so that the books would be suited to our interests. She knew our garden was something we spent a lot of time working on during the summer, so she included My Garden, by Kevin Henkes (who also just happens to be one of my favorite authors for children’s books!)
I just love our basket and can’t wait to share it with our kids on the big day when baby arrives! While our little girl won’t know they are for her just yet, I am excited to start building her library of books right away with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, Planting a Rainbow, Time For Bed, and more. I am looking forward to our little guy coming to the hospital to meet his little sister and being able to give him his books, I’m A Big Brother, Goodnight Train, and Dig, Dig, Digging! 
Books are such a wonderful part of our lives. I have always loved to read, and teaching reading to my first graders was always my favorite part of teaching! I loved when they became interested in a certain kind of book and didn’t want to put it down! I also loved to watch when reading really clicked for them and they couldn’t wait to read out loud to someone! Now, as a mom, I love reading with my little guy! The ways I see him learn as he listens and looks is something I enjoy every day!
