Did you know that according to the National Pest Management Association the unseasonably warm winter we experienced is expected to bring bugs and pests out of hibernation early this year, meaning we’re in store for prolonged mosquito season? Um, not exactly my idea of summer fun with West Nile and Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) associated with those little pests.
My goal is to keep my family mosquito bite free as much as possible and since I prefer to use natural repellents I’m the first to admit that they are hard to find. The newest additions to my arsenal in Battle Mosquito are the Twist-It Mosquito Repeller and Bugables Mosquito Repellent Stickers.
Twist-It Mosquito Repeller uses all natural oils to repel mosquitoes in a 10 foot radius for up to 200 hours. You can twist it around anything or hang it using the built in hook. I like using it to keep the area around our jogging stroller mosquito-free. Twist-It Mosquito Repeller is also easy to remove and use again. This is a great way to keep babies protected without having to apply anything to their delicate & sensitive skin!
Bugables Mosquito Repellent Stickers work by emitting an ‘aura’ of all natural, plant-based essential oils (Lemongrass, Geraniol & Citronella). This scent masks the odors humans emit that attract insects effectively making “you” smell like a plant and invisible to insects. Each sticker works for up to 200 hours and protects an area of 4 to 6 feet. These stickers come with additional “stick pads” and are perfect (and SAFE) to stick on kids clothing, backpacks, hats, etc.
