Why is it that when you have a baby everyone feels they need to just come up and touch your baby? Not really appropriate when you don’t know the person. Even kids do it.  One thing to make a mom happy is to just look and not touch.  We, as moms, try to keep our baby’s free from germs and around the least amount as possible.

I wanted to share with you three easy ways to help combat and keep those germs away from that little newborn or baby you are trying to keep healthy. I know some may be just common sense but reminders are always helpful.  We are busy moms and I always forget little easy steps such as these.

We all know full well when you are on your second and third child that the older kids bring home all kinds of stuff from school.

Three easy ways to help keep germs away ::

  1. Wash those hands – Handwashing is a win for everyone, except the germs. Washing your hands properly is one of the most important things you can do to help prevent and control the spread of many illnesses. If you don’t have water and soap, use some hand sanitizer.
  2. Cover your mouth and nose. Stay home when you are sick. Avoid close contact with anyone that is sick. Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects.
  3. Cover your baby when out in public! You can use this wonderful product from Kids ‘n Such. It is a stretchy multi-use car seat canopy that will help keep the germs away.

I have been using this for a couple weeks and it seriously is the easier thing to use.  I love the flexible material and how it stretches over whatever I need. It’s perfect when we go to the park it keeps the sun out of her face.  Keeps those pesky cart and high chair germs away from my baby because all I have to do is quickly wash it after each use. Every new mom needs one of these in their diaper bag.

  9. I use hand sanitizer and constantly wipe everything down! At home I try to keep it natural by wiping surfaces with vinegar & water in a spry bottle.

  11. We keep the germs away by washing our hands a lot and carrying hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes.

  12. We keep the germs away by washing hands regularly & also using disinfectant wipes!

  17. We use shopping cart covers and use hand sanitizer after going to the store, to the park, etc.
