School is coming to an end for the year. Are you excited?  I know as the school year comes to a close, I just get lazy and want it to be over. Come on summer!

When summer comes to an end, then it’s back to school! That’s how it all works, right? By the end of summer, we are saying, “School needs to start, like  yesterday!” Although, I do know there are a select few of your that don’t want school to start just yet.

The real question is, do you prepare for the start of school through the summer or do you wait until the last minute to get everything ready? For me, I am one that likes to get everything ready through the summer and when we got those fun supplies list from the school, that’s all I need to get.  With that being said, I am already ahead of the game for next year with this adorable set I got from The World of Eric Carle.

You can check out the previous products we got from Eric Carle, that we use every day.  Now, a little more about what we just got.

  2. We read a lot and I buy items out of season (when they are marked down)and size a bigger (fall/winter items) for my children to wear.

  3. To prepare for next school year, I read books and articles, and tons of pinterest posts and start making my lists for when I return.

  4. We get the school supply list early and start keeping a look out on the sales.

  5. We are a homeschooling family, everyday is a learning experiment, even during the summer. We will be swimming and plowing through our curriculum.

  7. We like to keep reading through the summer, shop for our supplies, an incorporate learning in everything we do.

  9. I START BUYING SCHOOL CLOTHES AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES WHEN I SEE SALES INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL RIGHT BEFORE SCHOOL BEGINS 🙂

  10. We do workbooks for whatever grade they finished to keep some things fresh in his mind. Practice writing.

  11. I get started on clothes and shoes shopping. There have been some great sales at Target, so I have managed to get a week’s worth of pants for my youngest, and a weeks worth of shirts for my oldest. I keep an eye out for clearance, too, like supplies or backpacks.

  14. Nothing! It’s not my responsibility! Hahahaha! But summer does mean that I get to see our kids and our grandbaby, so I am so happy!!

  17. We continue reading and do flash cards over the summer to keep them in the learning mode.

  18. We try to pick up school supplies all thru the summer so we are not hit so hard when it is school time. My kids like to read so that’s no problem. We also do games that involve math skills.

  21. We stock up on supplies at all times of the year. Heck, when it comes to clothes, I have wardrobes planned out for a year ahead of time. 😉

  22. I buy supplies and clothing when it’s on sale and we go to the library and different museums.

  23. My kids are about to start school this coming school year. So i’m making sure they know how to get dressed, put their coats on and off, shoes on and off, using the bathroom and washing hands properly. They already know academically what they need to know to start Kindergarten – it’s the things like mentioned that they need just a little help with!

  25. We read and might do a lap book or a unit study on something that interests them. Plus my daughter has a pen pal so that keeps her writing.

  26. Keep reading! Libraries have great summer reading programs for kids of all ages. Reading over the summer is one of the best things you can do to keep your brain “active” during the summer.

  31. We plan out our summers full of library visits and mini field trips.

  32. We sort through clothes, visit the doctor for check-up, etc., and watch for sales on school supplies.

  33. We go to the library and do a weekly book and writing classes and I start buying supplies as I see them on sale!

  36. I keep my kids on schedule and I don’t allow for much sleeping in. Otherwise, the only thing I require or encourage is reading.

  37. We start buying supplies and backpacks in July when we can find them on sale or special!

  38. I make sure visit the library a few times a week, including any activities they offer for kids!

  39. My daughter is starting 4k in the fall. We will be going to bed earlier and working on things she will be learning i school next year.

  42. My daughter will be starting kindergarten in the fall. We will continue to practice her writing skills.

  46. We visit our library frequently for story time and pick out books to read at home.

  47. We join the summer reading program at school. We also stock up on worksheet print outs.

  48. We always tried to get the back packs and supplies ready over the summer.

  49. My daughter’s not in school yet so I haven’t had to worry about it.
