*the VTech product, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by VTech…although the opinions are strictly my own.*

He stood across from us at the table yelling, “Me want a spelling test, too!” Yes, my 3 year old was pitching a 3-yr-old sized fit because HE wanted to take a SPELLING TEST!! Really !?!

He watches his siblings every move, everything they do, everything they value and everything they play with! And then he tries to do the same. ๐Ÿ™‚ The problem comes with technology though…he loves playing on their devices but at 3 he’s definitely not ready to handle an expensive tablet nor do I really want him surfing the internet alone or sticking it under his arm to carry it to another room. :/

Enter the VTech Innotab 3!! Built tough for kid use with fun educational material available for purchase via Learning Lodge. ย  My kids went crazy trying to be the first to try it!! They quickly did the “set-up” alone and began taking silly pictures of each other with the 180 degree, 2 megapixal camera. ๐Ÿ™‚

Since each can have their own profiles, each child has found some part of the Innotab3 that they have liked and can store!! My 8 yr old son has played H20 Go! almost every day since the Innotab3 showed up. It’s a game that comes on the included cartridge that teaches kids the world and science of water…funny to hear a kid-game say “condensation”! Unknown to me, my 6 year old girl has written notes on the Innotab Note app, like a journal, saved onto her profile!

Like many kid electronics, this tablet does go through batteries quickly, so an AC adapter would be very beneficial for at-home play. Another challenge is that between tasks the “loading” sign would come up for 4-7 seconds. Doesn’t seem like lot until you’re sitting there with a wiggly 3 yr old asking “where is the game?”

While everyone has had a chance with the InnoTab 3, I’d say that it best fit the younger ages in my house, like 3-6 yrs old. I feel like we still haven’t grasped all this tablet can do withย  over 350+ available e-books, games and other educational activities available on Learning Lodge and new software cartridges. But it sure has entertained my crew, kept Nate content on his own device and yes, even made a grocery run with four hyper kids pleasant ๐Ÿ™‚
