produce: for kids get healthy, give hope campaign :: promotion

PFK_final_logos_webHave you ever seen a Produce for Kids promotion in your local grocer? (Disclosure: I received Produce for Kids products in exchange for a post about this campaign. All thoughts and opinions are my own.) I had but until recently I had no idea just what their annual Get Healthy, Give Hope campaigns were all about.

Banana Fro-YoHere’s the short answer on what exactly Produce for Kids is according to their own “About Us” page (follow the link to read more) :: Produce for Kids® encourages healthy eating among families by providing simple, healthy meal solutions and resources for parents, while raising funds for local children’s non-profit organizations.

Pretty cool eh? Anyway, now through June 22nd my local grocer, Meijer, is working with Produce for Kids and all participating fresh fruit and vegetable suppliers at Meijer stores will make a consumption-based donation to local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Smoothie PopsMy fellow Meijer shoppers need to get your fruit and vegetable rich recipes in the meal plan this week and make sure stop by the Produce for Kids in-store display while you’re shopping!

The display should be easy to spot as it features characters from the Sprout® health-focused children’s series LazyTown” and “The Chica Show.” But most importantly it there you will find easy-to-prepare recipes, helpful materials with additional information on the campaign and links to visit more than 90 easy Ideal Meals®recipes online.

If you’re in need of some recipe inspiration, here’s on they have shared with me that I’ve added the ingredients for to my shopping list for today ::
