oil pulling made simple with gurunanda

disclaimer no giveaway

Earlier this year the oil-pulling trend lit up my Facebook feed. What is it? How do you do it? Does it really DO anything? Everyone was weighing in with their opinions and personal experiences. Intrigued, I relocated my jar of coconut oil from the kitchen to the bathroom and gave it a whirl.

I wish I could tell you one way or the other whether oil pulling worked for me but I have no idea. I gave it a really solid effort for about 2 weeks and then my need for convenience won out. It just became inconvenient to scoop out the coconut oil or realize you moved the jar and spoon back to the kitchen. And then there was all the traveling and not really wanting to take the jar of coconut oil with me.

So I stopped. Darn you, you need for convenience you!

Then the fabulous people at GuruNanda contacted us about checking out their Pulling Oil and I figured this might be the perfect opportunity to jump back on the oil pulling wagon!

logoGuruNanda’s Pulling Oil is a combination of pure sesame oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and peppermint oil. All together in a handy dandy bottle, ready to swish and swash around in your mouth. {those are the non-technical terms for pulling}

While I can’t say for certain if the Pulling Oil is doing all the things oil pulling is said to do, I can say that having the combinations of oils together in a bottle dedicated for my oil pulling does certainly help keep me on track. I keep that bottle in my medicine cabinet right next to my tooth brush so I remember to grab it first.

And I love the mixture of oils! My husband wasn’t too thrilled with ever trying oil pulling because he’s not a fan of coconut. But, with the mix of oils in the Pulling oil, he doesn’t even taste the coconut. Actually, because of the addition of the peppermint oil, the Pulling Oil helps leave my mouth feeling fresher than if I just used coconut oil!

Also, because the oil is available in different size bottles, it is super easy to take with you on all of your summer travels. No worries about missing a few days while you’re traveling! Actually, the GuruNanda Pulling Oil is even available individual 0.5 oz cups!

I can’t wait to use those little 0.5 oz cups while we’re camping this Summer!

If you’re interested in getting started with Oil Pulling or just want to check it out, GuruNanda Pulling Oil is definitely a great first step! They’ve definitely made it super easy and convenient for this busy mom!

    Okay, I must be living under a rock because I still don’t get it. I just don’t understand what it is supposed to be and do. I’ve heard it many times and I guess it’s time I really read up on it now that it’s more convenient!

      You should give it a try, Trisha! The key is definitely to start with a small amount and for a shorter amount of time (1-2 minutes). Then work your way up to using more oil and pulling for longer period of time (up to 20 min.).

    I have never heard of this oil before. I am just now learning about the essential oils that are out there. This one sounds good though.

      I really like the combination of the oils in the GuruNanda oil, Leigh Anne! You can certainly just use one oil for pulling but they have the combination just right in this one!

    I don’t know how I missed “Oil Pulling” but it sounds interesting. I agree with you, convenience is a big factor for me. I’m going to have to try this.

      Convenience…YES! I wish that wasn’t such a big factor for me, Tammy, but I’m all about being able to take care of me in the shortest amount of time possible 🙂
