Most of their days are spent running around in our sprinklers, catching frogs (yes, real frogs) and eating Popsicles in the summer sun. Summer days, drifting away…..but uh oh, those rainy ones can really get ya. Well, have no fear, Ivy Kids is here! Let me tell you more…..Ivy Kids is a monthly subscription kit for kids aged 3 to 8 designed to excite, entertain and yes, EDUCATE!!

I have told you before that I am not a creative soul. I truly, truly wish I were. My shining accomplishment to date is making homemade finger paints which resulted in two colors (blue and green) and some fairly mellow grass and sky-centered pictures. Now I know there are a ton of crafty subscription services out there. I have tried a few and they are GREAT. Complete props all around. What is different about Ivy Kids is that the crafts are created by teachers who know what kids love and what encourages excitement about learning. Plus they are easy to do, even for parents like me who lack that Pinterest DIY gene.

Each kit comes with a fun book (July’s is ‘Jump Frog Jump!’ which is so appropriate for my clan that it freaked me out a bit) and 10+ activities focused around the subject of the book. How cool is that?? I know my kids always enjoy an activity more if they can relate it back to something they have seen or read. Now here is a true testament to the kits. I was prepping my materials to write my review and within 2 minutes, my 4 year-old was right next to me, asking if he could help and getting excited about playing the games. It was so cool to see. Each activity is labeled in its own separate package and comes with a parent sheet to explain how it works (which is huge for me, because I totally need things spelled out). The crafts are age-appropriate and FUN. Plus you can add on an “extra sibling” materials for just $5 more per month so both of my school-age kids were able to join in. Bottom line, these kits are your ticket for those rainy days or those too-hot days or those “I’m bored, mommy!” days. And truth be told, you will have some fun yourself. Right now, new subscribers get 20% off their first kit with the code IVYSUMMER20 (there’s even a free gift included in your first kit!!). Head over and check it out for yourself!
