This one is for all you ladies out there feeling stuck in a rut.  I do not know about you, but being a mom of 3 little ladies (another on the way) and always on the run, I feel like I get stuck with the “comfortable” and always do what I’ve always done when it comes to daily schedules.  You know, running my errands, dropping kids off/picking them up from school, etc.  I always want to change things up, but even when I do change things up, they tend to still look similar.  So….

I took on a personal style challenge.  I do tend to opp for hats when I’m dropping my middle daughter off for school.  Merely because mornings are NOT my forte.  It’s a miracle she is there on time some days!  However, just because I am wearing hats trying to hide my tired eyes, doesn’t mean I’m rolling in sweatpants and a sweatshirt.  I still try and dress things up a bit so I look put together.

I’m thrilled to introduce to you MakerWear.  It’s a “Curated Crown Sourcing” business model wheredesigners can submit a design, or if you don’t have a design bone in your body, vote for favorites.  Then, some of the favorites get put in to the production cycle and put in the massese for purchase.  For example, the hats I’m sharing with you today are in some Target stores.  Totally rockin’ idea, right? I think is pretty awesome the more I research it.

MakerWear is made up of emerging artists and sharing them with you today is my pleasure!  When you pop over to MakerWear, you will see a lot of hats, great hats!  Hats that have many different options.  Whether you are looking for a baseball cap, a trucker cap or a flat billed 5-panel hat, they have you covered.  The style options are pretty crazy and fun across the board.  I guarantee you will find something that you think fits your personality!

I received the following three choices, and have worked to style them up.  My style mixed with the “new” style these hats are encouraging me to reach for!

  • Bacon Tail Baseball Cap :: Maker, Deedee Lazuardi :: A screen printer and skateboarder so punk, he wouldn’t even tell us if he actually likes bacon.
  • Put A Bird On It Five Panel Hat AND Camo Five Panel Hat :: Maker, J.J Spectre :: A design nerd, type lover, and unicorn. Enjoys déjà vu and long walks on the moon. Dreams in color.

I love these because they are not only perfect for any personality type, , they are great quality and not something that you will find at just any store.  There is a hype to them that makes me want to grab them and feel good about wearing them.  They are different and fun, fun to mix with your wardrobe you already own!  They just add an extra twist – and that I love!
