great gift for avid readers :: avid bookshop monthly subscription service

Screen Shot 2014-12-08 at 12.30.45 AMIf you remember when I shared about my new favorite back-to-school workbooks for my children, you might also remember that I discovered them in a fantastic bookshop in Athens, Ga called Avid Bookshop. A few weeks ago I discovered a very exciting thing about Avid. They have a book subscription program! With this service you’ll have one hand-selected book mailed directly to your home each month. Selections are based on each subscriber’s personal tastes. When the book is packaged up they’ll include a little note telling you why they picked that book for you. But here’s the best part in my opinion: the whole process can be as interactive as you want it to be! Following a month’s delivery you can send feedback. If one book doesn’t suit your fancy, let them know. If you find one that you love, let them know about that, too! By doing so, the bookshop can learn a little bit more about your tastes and choose subsequent books based on what you had to say about previous selections!

There are several different subscription options: one for children, one for middle grade readers, one for young adult readers, and one for adults. You’re also able to sign up for either six months or a full year. If one book a month seems overwhelming (If you have children, one book a month can certainly be too much sometimes!), they can space it out so that you get one book every other month.

The pricing options include all tax and shipping costs, so there are no hidden costs!

Happy reading!
