In around the house/ clean it up

glad trash bags :: glad art auction

The Glad Trash bags could not have arrived at a better time in my house.  We are experiencing the thralls of spring cleaning – and we are in the midst of it!  I have many things going to the trash, going to a donation pile, going to a garage sale pile…and on and on.  I have run out of boxes so next on the list is to fill garbage bags.  It’s not ideal to put things in garbage bags that you WANT to keep, however, I have found that the Glad trash bags can sure take a beating and stand the pressure that I am putting on them with all my things I’m using the bags to store.  Not only are they great for my indoor spring clean up, by my husband has been using them outdoors too. The bags are large, tough and dependable, and feature convenient easy-to-seal closures, so what goes in stays in.

In using the Glad trash bags, I can have confidence that it will stand the test of my toughest cleanups! Here are a few noteworthy things about the bags:

Here is what I find pretty great about Glad however.  The are conducting an auction, a Glad Black Bag art auction.  It is helping support Keep America Beautiful (KAB). Proceeds benefit Keep America Beautiful.  Glad has been standing behind this for 27+ years now and their mission is to “engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments.”

The Art Auction began April 16th and runs through April 26.  It is in the middle of the auction now, so be sure to head on over and take a peek at the items up for bid.  Here are a couple pointers about the initiative:

  • The Picker Sisters are teaming up with Glad® Black Bag and Keep America Beautiful to celebrate and cleanup life’s wild moments and then find incredible and smart ways to reuse the trash.
  • The Picker Sisters have built their business on the belief that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.  Along the way, they discovered that some of the best finds are the “remnants” of life’s wild moments.  Things that are created for or broken in our biggest celebrations can be repurposed in new ways that honor the memory, but create great style.
  • By leveraging the Picker Sister’s expertise and partnering with celebrated mosaic artist Jason Mecier, Glad® Black Bag is showing the beauty and benefits of turning trash into treasures.
