Our Christmas tree is up and my favorite thing to come down to in the morning is the tree with all the lights on! I love this time of year. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend to follow spending time with family and friends. We have some Christmas traditions that we start the day following Christmas, and one of them is to head out to the tree farm and cut down our tree! Every year gets a little more exciting as our kids’ interest and excitement grows with all the things that surround Christmas.
I do quite a bit of shopping early as I see things I know someone would like, but I’ve started to write down specific ideas over the last few days to make sure we find some special gifts for the people we love. I started thinking about how our “wish lists” of things changes over the years. Little ones love to receive their favorite toy often inspired by the favorite show or hobby. Both of my kids this year want a toy from the movie Cars, so Lightning McQueen is about all they can talk about here! Some of our nieces and nephews are a little older than that, but still their lists include different kinds of toys, and the older kids want clothes or some kind of electronic. My husband and I have found that we are looking more for things like a kitchen appliance or a tool to use for the house.
