dining in style with brinware for kids :: review

About a year ago I decided to get rid of all the plastic plates I had for my girls to eat on.  The dubious origins of those colorful disks were making me nervous about what was getting into my kids from their plates through the food they were eating.

I was really excited when I found Brinware, the alternative to plastic tableware.  Combine tempered glass dishware with food grade removable silicone sleeves and you’ve got Brinware.  Brilliant!

Now, you may be thinking, “Glass plates for kids?  Are you nuts?”  No.  I am perfectly sane, and the high durability of tempered glass (also known as safety glass) makes this the best plate ever to hand over to a kid.

We’ve been having some fun using our It’s A Hoot, Garden Party, School of Fish, and Froggie Field Day plates. My kids love being able to choose what design and colored silicone sleeve they want to use for each meal and I love not having to worry about my grown up dishes getting broken! The silicone sleeves also help keep the plates from sliding around when little ones aren’t paying as close attention as they should.  This has seriously cut down on the dropped plate incidents and mom-cleaning-food-out-of-the-carpet episodes at our house.

Brinware plates are microwaveable, dishwasher safe, and free of BPA & phthalates.  The food grade silicone they use won’t retain odors or fade in color either!

Our new Brinware Silicone Placemats have been very useful for easy meal cleanup at home.  The fun colors and animal alphabet design have helped keep the girls entertained while waiting for meals to be served.

The placemats roll up compactly, are lightweight, and won’t slid off the table.  Perfect for using at home or eating out, especially if you’ve got a little one who needs a clean feeding surface!
