When my son was born, I found myself really looking at product quality and was amazed at what I found. Some of the “leading” baby products are filled with potentially hazardous materials. You might say that I am over protecting him… and to be honest, I am! I want to give him the best start to life that I can. You can’t fault a mother for that.
That is why I am always excited to try new products that are both safe for my little man AND effective! I was ecstatic when I received the Desert Essence Baby Products to test. All of the products are USDA or NSF Organic, and MOST of the products have the number of ingredients listed right on the front of the bottle!
The Oh So Clean Hair and Body Cleanser works really well and only has 8 ingredients! It comes in a foaming pump for convenience. I simply use one pump to clean my little guy’s hair (As you can see he doesn’t have much hair to clean just yet, but he sure knows how to get food stuck in it!). The smell of this product is not what you would expect a baby to smell like. While it smells a little “earthy,” it also has a very clean smell to it! You could even say it smells like the desert 🙂
Unlike the cleanser, My Sweetie Pie Baby Lotion smells like a push-pop or creamsicle to me. I could just eat my little guy up he smells and looks so good after using this product! While this product contains a few more ingredients than the other products, it is still a winner in my book.
Perhaps the product I was most excited about was the Sweet Dreams All Natural Surface Cleaner. Over the past year, I have struggled to find a product to clean my son’s toys with. Bathing them in diluted bleach water seems a little harsh to do frequently, so now I have a product I can keep in his nursery and wipe down his toys with when needed. It is a coconut based cleaner that uses the power of Tea Tree Oil to disinfect… see, I can pronounce those ingredients! 🙂 AND there are only 6 ingredients in the entire bottle.

I have been searching for a good all surface cleaner that is also safe for baby! I currently use a Clorox spray but then I’m always worried about not fully rinsing the chemicals off before she gets her curious hands on the toys.
