date night with ibotta :: better than coupons :: $2 for you :: app review

This isn’t the first time I’ve talked about Ibotta on The Simple Moms. However, it’s been a little while and Ibotta is getting better and better all the time. I don’t know about you, but cash flow seems depleted when the new year begins. Christmas brings travels, gifts, and extra entertainment for our family. Even though I’m frugal, we still get off track and I need to buckle down. As much as I love to use coupons, I don’t always have the time or energy to organize a big trip like I could when I didn’t have little ones.  I find Ibotta to be faster then clipping coupons. Side note: If you are a coupon clipper…you can do Ibotta deals in addition to those coupons you are saving with! {cha-ching}

Do you want to get money back for buying milk? What about going out to Chilis and getting some cash back after dinner? $10 back from a $100 Best Buy purchase would help, right? My husband got a new iPhone this past Saturday and we got $10 back. Every bit helps. How about going to the movies and getting $1 off your ticket? Put the app on your phone and your significant other’s and you both could get $1 back. Refer your significant other (friends and family too) with your link you will get and you will get $5 for each person and they will get $2 after redeeming their first offer! This is a limited time referral deal, so hurry!

With Valentine’s being right around the corner, I put together a few ideas for saving some money on a date night. Another tip is to check www.retailmenot.com for Chilis printable coupons for extra savings! I’m such a frugal nerd, but I like to save wherever and whenever I can.

Redeem your cash back when you get home. Take a picture of your receipts and movie stubs and wait for cash to be dropped in your account (it’s quick too…sometimes within an hour for me!). You can have it transferred to Paypal or use it on giftcards like ITunes, Starbucks, Regal, or RedBox. I personally like the cash. 🙂

While I’m sitting on the couch being lazy, I cruise through the offers on my Ibotta app. Keep in mind, you don’t have to have a smartphone, it will work if you have an ipod/ipad too. I pick what products I think I might purchase and earn money back by answering a few quick questions. Seriously, it is faster then taking out scissors to clip a coupon. It can be fun too. Please note, you have to have the offers picked before your buy them because they check the timestamp on your receipt.

earn.PNGI’ve earned $69 CASH back since I started the app. It’s not always huge chunks of money, but $5 at a time adds up faster then you might think. $69 is no small chunk of change either. Let me get you started with $2 when you redeem your first offer.
