coffee and tacos :: reasons to celebrate

With school back into full swing and the calendar full of activities, practices, and sports I think we can all do with a little fun in our lives. Which is why I’m telling you about two completely bizarre holidays that are just waiting for you to celebrate.

National Coffee Day 2016
First, did you know that today, yes TODAY, September 29, 2016 is National Coffee Day?!? This is like the national holiday of exhausted moms everywhere and celebration is not to be taken lightly. To begin, brew yourself a cup, a pot, or a French press of coffee and savor that delicious nectar. Then make sure you visit your favorite local coffee shop online or in person and see what types of National Coffee Day promotions they are running. Everyone from Krispy Kreme to Dunkin’ Donuts to my favorite local coffee chain are running specials or freebies for this momentous occasion? If you see me today don’t be surprised if by the end of the day my left eye is twitching and the house is miraculously cleaned thanks to all my planned caffeine intake.

Tacos for 5
After coffee I have another true love. Tacos. Seriously, at our favorite local taco joint half the employees know me by name and the owner makes sure to always say hello to my children by name. When you love food but aren’t too keen on the cooking thing, tacos are an easy, delicious, and family friendly meal. Join me in living it up on National Taco Day, October 4th and have a few of your favorite soft or crunchy tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Because any meal that I can make or order that pleases everyone in the family is definitely a reason to celebrate! Coincidentally, or not so coincidentally, it will be a TACO TUESDAY!!! Don’t miss out on the chance to celebrate this most excellent of foods that balances so many food groups into one utensil-free dining experience. And yes, everything is awesome when it’s National Taco Day.

A person can certainly have a lot of fun if they observe all of these less official national holidays 🙂

YAY, we do a taco tuesday weekly. It’s my children’s favorite night for dinner. We set it up as a station and have a go at it. It’s so much fun.
