About halfway through this winter I realized it was the perfect time to get all the food pantry organizing done. You see, here in Michigan we have a VERY humid summer and this year I am set on avoiding stale food from the humidity. After many trips to our local superstore I had enough airtight containers to make sure I never had stale cereal, chips, or crackers again. Unfortunately, these containers were sadly lacking in labels so anyone else would know what was in them.
One quick search and I found Cherry Hill Designs. Their chalkboard labels are the perfect solution to my organizational needs. Heavy duty labels that all match, and can be easily changed if I decide a new item will be using that container.
I’ve been using their Chalkboard labels {small} which came as a set of 40, with half of them being rectangular and half of them oval shaped (all measuring 2″x1″). While I used traditional chalk to initially label everything (lying around from having kids of course) I have decided that a chalk pen is indeed worth using with these. It looks so much nicer and bolder (see the difference between my labels and the sample photos from Cherry Hill Designs?).
These small labels have worked out great for what I needed and I’ve been thinking of some other great uses for them as well. I’m thinking about labeling our glassware so everyone can keep their drinks straight. Plus, I only have to run them through the dishwasher to clean the labels afterwards. The uses are endless and it’s great that you only need a wet cloth to prep the label on that container for its next use.
