carve & create an olaf pumpkin :: gutting a pumpkin tip :: diy

Did you carve your pumpkins yet? I stumbled on this super easy Olaf pumpkin carving template. I promise it is not hard! HERE is the link with the free printable you can download.

Cut the bottom of your pumpkins open to de-goop them.

Stack your pumpkins to decide the best placement for the template.

Cut out the template and trace OR freehand it the design onto your pumpkin.

Carve your pumpkins.

Add some twigs for arms and 3 sticks for Olaf’s hair.

I saw a tip to open the bottom of your pumpkin for easier gutting. I wouldn’t say it made it that much better, guts are guts, but it made it easier to stack our Olaf.

Our poor little Annabelle came down with a stomach bug when she got home from school. She was a trooper and only threw up once while we carved our pumpkins. You know you are parents of 3 kids when you can pause for some pukes and resume pumpkin carving. It took us about an hour to gut, carve, and assemble our Olaf.

I’m looking forward to pumpkin carving this year. These came out cute, too bad your little one wasn’t feeling well to really enjoy it!

Thank you for sharing this!! Even though I only had one pumpkin to carve this year, we used the template you provided and did Olaf’s face. Needless to say, my daughter loved it. Next year I’ll plan ahead and get more than one pumpkin to do something cool like yours!
