brinks :: hands free push pull rotate door knobs and levers :: vlog :: review

brinks knobs and leversI was very happy to review this Brink’s doorknob. It was provided to me for the purpose of this review. We will be switching all our knobs over to these. These hands free door knobs are pure brilliance! Every busy family should have this gadget.

We bought our home 6 years ago. It was a foreclosure,  so we have been slowly upgrading and replacing things as we can. We have some pretty shoddy looking doorknobs, complete with dents. I had this GREAT plan {insert sarcasm} when we were painting the doors, that we could take apart the knobs and spray paint them a more stylish brushed nickel since we couldn’t afford new ones. It was before Pinterest, but it would be a Pinterest fail. So our ugly copper door knobs are now flaking nickel door knobs.

Check out the video below to see for yourself what this knob can do.
The push, pull, or rotate door knob is genius
. I can open doors with a kid on one hip and a laundry basket on the other. I just have to push the knob and it opens. It’s also a well made door knob. It literally makes zero noise when I twist it to open or close the door. If you have little ones, you know the tiniest of clicks will wake that sleeping baby as soon as you shut the door. It also has the feature that you can simply pull the knob (no twisting needed) and the door opens towards you. I like to know the kids can easily open their own door if we ever had an emergency.

Here is a video of our doorknob in action at my home. There is now such a thing as a “laundry cam”. I get silly when I’m excited about a product. I want to shout from the rooftops about it, because it’s just plain cool!

We have to be very creative with our budget to make ends meet. If you follow my posts, you have probably caught a few frugal tips. I appreciate good quality items that are affordable. These door knobs are available at select Lowe’s (check online too!) and they are very reasonably priced. Especially for being such a useful, multi-functioning knob. They have many stylish finishes and features. There are knobs and levers with the option of locks or no locks. I’m excited to transition all our knobs to these handy dandy Brinks knobs. They will be a good investment and very useful for years to come.

I have one more door knob story…who has door knob stories? I guess I do. Our bathroom doorknob was on backwards because our son locked himself in the bathroom on a daily basis. We thought we were so genius to turn it around while he was a toddler. However, if the lock button gets pushed, we were getting locked in our own bathroom. If we didn’t pick our way out (yes, we kept a screwdriver in the restroom), we had an extra portable door bell so we put it in the bathroom to ring for help when we got locked in. We know if we hear THAT doorbell ring, it’s the bathroom. We like to keep life interesting.
