a simple diy :: wire ring

My nice’s birthday is right after Christmas and the only thing she asked for were wire rings. I started experimenting with wire to create these beautiful rings for her to select from as her birthday gift.  A Simple DIY :: Wire Ring tutorial is so easy anyone can make them.  I made four the first day I started and was pleased with all of them.

STEP 1::  The first thing you need to do is cut 12 inches of wire and food it in half.  Place your bead in the middle and wrap it around your finger or the top a nail polish bottle.

STEP 2:: Once you have wrapped it around your finger you can begin wrapping both wire pieces around the bead in a clockwise motion.  Continue wrapping until you are only left with enough wire to secure  the ends of the wire to the double ring band.  As you can see I like to place mine between the slats in my pallet desk to keep it from moving.  It also helps to from bending the ring band.

Step 3:: Secure the ends of the wire around the ring band and make sure that the wire does not cut the skin.  Just loop it around the ring band as shown in the picture.  Remember to keep the wire tight when you are wrapping so that you get the effect you are looking for.

These beautiful wire rings only take a few minutes to make so it is possible to make several at a time.   I’m hoping to try wrapping gemstones rings next.  The original photography my niece sent me was of wire wrapped gemstone rings.  I am very pleased with my first attempt at wire rings and have made half  a dozen to try and sell.
