“I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel. I received product samples to facilitate my party and a promotional item to thank me for participating.”
I was out of town last week at a ladies getaway with some fabulous friends in Nashville. During that time, my husband basically ruled the roost and did all the Dance Mom and #GirlMom things he had to do. He stepped up to the plate for reals!! However, one thing he did that I wasn’t aware of, was invite some of my daughter’s friends over Friday night for a movie night. We typically have a fun movie night either Friday or Saturday as a family. He continued the tradition without me, but added friends. Major brownie points as far as I’m concerned!
He organized his own little “play day”…with friends for my daughters and friends for him. Genius. Food was ordered, dessert was had and everyone walked away with a fun Barbie. PLUS…they all got to see the new Barbie adventure on DVD, Barbie and the Secret Door.
**Please note, pictures of my kids were taken at two different times…hence the different outfits lol!**
In this magical, musical adventure, Barbie™ stars as Alexa™, a shy princess who would rather read than perform her royal duties. While walking through the royal garden, Alexa™ discovers a secret door in her kingdom, much like the one in the book she’s reading! She steps through the door and enters a whimsical land filled with magical creatures and surprises. Alexa™ meets Romy™ and Nori™, a mermaid and a fairy, who explain that a spoiled ruler named Malucia is trying to take all the magic in the land. To her surprise, Alexa™ has magical powers in this world, and her new friends are certain that only she can restore magic to their land. Discover what happens when Alexa™ finds the courage to stand up for what’s right and learns that the power of friendship is far more precious than magic.
My two oldest love ANYTHING to do with the Barbie movies. The following day when I talked to them on the phone, all they could tell me about was the Barbie movie and the singing and the dancing and how they got to cuddle with friends under a blanket and how dad surprised them. So fun!!
Since I have returned, I had a chance to see a little bit of the movie as well. While there is a little sass, it’s corrected quite quickly as the movie progresses and lessons are learned. They are learned in a way that makes me smile…doing right is always rewarded as far as I’m concerned! 🙂 A child could take a way some good points from this movie if they are paying attention. Points like making friends yet being flexible.
So, what do you think? Will you check this out or purchase it when you see it in the stores and make a movie night of your own?
