10 on the 10th :: the car seat that grows with your child from diono :: review and giveaway

Posted on by Shannon

I have been learning so much lately about traveling with children.  I’ve learned how to strap them in a different way when wearing a coat. I’ve learned how many options there are and I have learned more about what seats are best for most ages.  There is just SO much to learn!  If you have kids, you know what I’m talking about!

Here is what I love though, trusting a brand because you know the research that has gone in to the seats your little ones will be riding in.  I an completely new to Diono, so I hope you enjoy this review as much as I enjoyed learning about them.  Let me tell you about the Diono RadianRXT car seat.

The RadianRXT is our best seat – full steel frame, crash tested above standards.

Here is something that is not totally important when looking at the safety aspect, but looking at the fashion aspect instead. LOL!  Look at this gorgeous seat:

I just had to!  I think it is one of the most brilliant purple’s I have ever seen in a car seat – and I LOVE it so much!!  After all, purple is my favorite color 🙂Ok, so that was totally not important, but had to share with you anyways.  Now on to why it’s a fantastic seat!

One of the first things I noticed about this seat is how SIMPLE it is to strap my daughter in to.  The mechanism used to tighten and loosen my daughter is very smooth, making it very simple to get her in and out.

My daughter is a peanut, and she fits in this seat just fine.  This seat is actually made for 5-80 lbs!!  I had to look in to this because it just didn’t make sense to me.  But after looking in to this and seeing just how safe it is to have a little newborn baby in, imagine the amount of money you can save!  This seat covers purchasing two seats!  You will save a couple hundred dollars in car seats just by purchasing this one.  AND…your babies are still safe!!

The RadianRXT is a highly versatile car seat that could be the only seat you’ll ever need. It comfortably seats rear-facing children from 5-45 lbs, forward-facing children from 20-80 lbs in 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 120 lbs. It’s built for strength and safety with a steel alloy frame, reinforced sidewalls, adjustable head support and our patented SafeStop® energy absorbing harness. EPS foam surrounds the child’s head and body to provide complete side impact protection. Our unique SuperLATCH system makes installation easy. The RadianRXT is NCAP crash tested, the industry benchmark for verifying child seat performance in severe accident conditions, and the only car seat rated for LATCH use with a child up to 80 lbs. The RadianRXT sits low on a vehicle seat for easy child boarding, features memory foam padding and infant support pillows. Expandable sides and a longer seat bottom provide extra room and comfort for your growing child. One cup holder is included, with the option to add up to 4 cup holders. In addition to all this versatility, it folds flat for travel and storage, has a 10 year life and offers amazing safety, comfort and convenience your child won’t outgrow.

It was very easy to install and securely fasten, even my parents can figure it out. 🙂  The directions weren’t written by a brain surgeon 🙂

It’s holiday time, which for so many means lots of hours in the car.  Whether it’s all the Christmas shopping, all the grocery shopping preparing for the Christmas parties, the traveling to and from all the family’s homes you have to visit….you need a good car seat!  A safe, reliable, easy to use car seat. I hope you have seen how I feel about Diono in this post.  I’m incredibly happy with this seat!!!

  29. I’m intrigued by the RadianGTX. It appears to be very similar to the RadianRXT. I would love to have this safe car seat for my granddaughter.

  36. The Monterey Booster in Shadow looks great – huge weight and height limit!

  42. The radian.gtx for sure! My nearly 5 month old is already 20lbs so a high rear facing weight limit is a great idea

  45. I also like the Seat Belt Pillow™. That would be great for my 5 year old who still falls asleep in the car and always plays the droopy neck game.

  47. I’m intrigued by the pop-up trash bin! We have yet to find something that works really well for us and that one might do the trick!

  48. The Radian R120 looks great. I have a 2 and 4 yo and one on the way and need another seat very badly!

  122. I like the idea of the monterey booster- probably in plum for my middle child. She’s so skinny I don’t like the idea of her in a backless booster in a couple years- and this looks very cozy.
