it is never too late to give the gift of reading :: cricket media

disclaimer no giveaway

With Christmas, New Year’s, and Hanukkah all perfectly timed together this year some of us have spread out parties and are still giving gifts. If you’re one of those gift givers who needs something extremely last minute for one of your own children, a niece, a nephew, or even a third cousin twice removed I have a great gift for you last minute shoppers.

You probably remember CRICKET magazine from when you were a kid. I remember they always had a copy of CRICKET in our school and local library for kids 9-14 to read during library time but did you know that Cricket Media (the parent company for CRICKET magazine) also offers magazines for all those younger ages? Also, did you know that if you purchase a subscription of one of the Cricket Media magazines for a child you know this holiday season you can gift one to a child in need as well?

For more than 25 years toddlers have enjoyed the stories, poems, and illustrations in BABYBUG. Little ones under 3 can enjoy having BABYBUG magazine read to them or pretend to read it for themselves (as my 1.5 year old is currently doing).

Preschool aged kiddos and those beginning readers will enjoy LADYBUG magazine. The fun stories, poems, illustrations, and activities will keep little ones excited to see every new issue arrive in the mailbox.

SPIDER is geared for emerging readers and has more of the great stories, poems, illustrations, and activities that the younger kids enjoyed. Meant to be read on their own or with an adult (parent, grandparent, big sibling, etc.) SPIDER has a slightly higher reading level for those 6-9 year olds in your life.

Last, but certainly not least, is CRICKET. Stories, poems, activities, and illustrations for the 9-14 aged kids CRICKET also includes new story contests for children to encourage readers to also work on their writing skills.
