After school snack attack?! Chocolate pudding with a nourishing kick to the rescue!

I do love to make regular milk/egg based puddings too, but I didn’t want to leave out the kiddos with the milk or egg allergies, and I’m giving my youngest an egg break for a little bit right now.  This has the taste and texture of the real thing – I promise!

You can whip this up in literally minutes – have at it…And get those hungry bellies held over til dinner 😉

You’ll Need:

1 ripe avocado
2 TB 100%  raw cocoa (I get mine cheapest in the bulk refrigerated section of our health food store)
1 tsp vanilla
¼ cup whole milk, coconut milk, or water (Preferably raw milk, or non homogenized, low pasteurized. Never ULP.)

OPTIONS FOR THE “SWEET”:

  • ½ banana, 2 TB raw honey or pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup-ish raw honey or pure maple syrup
  • 2 TB raw honey or pure maple syrup and 1 packet real stevia (like THIS brand)
  • ¼ cup sunacat or pure cane sugar

Blend everything up together. Refrigerate leftovers.

Kitchen Tips:

  • Play around with the “sweet” to your family’s taste. The option with the ½ banana is going to have some banana flavor to it but I encourage you to try it. Especially if you have very very little ones who don’t really know the difference.
  • Add in a little more milk or water and pour them into popcicle molds! Fudge pops!
  • You can add in more nourishment depending on your kiddos needs – pastured egg yolks, quality probiotic powder, Great Lakes Gelatin, and even coconut oil, are great options – especially if you are going to freeze them up in popsicle molds.
  •  HERE is a great way to make your own coconut milk. Otherwise, Native Forest is the only other brand I know of that doesn’t come in a BPA lined container.
