pinterest round up :: christmas crafts

Posted on December 13, 2012May 23, 2017 by Carinn

Thanks again to the inspiration that is Pinterest I have found some excellent Christmas crafts to try out this year.  Here are some of the Pinterest Wins I tried so far this December…

1) Felt Christmas Tree Craft :: You’ll need just about a yard of green felt from your local craft store, some extra smaller sheets of colored felt, a glue gun or fabric glue, scissors, 3M Command picture hanging strips, and some creativity. You can see in the below photo how I used the 3M Command strips to hang our tree.  Very easy, and there’s no holes in the walls or potential choke hazards for the littlest elves.

My original inspiration for the Felt Christmas Tree Craft can be found here.

2) Advent Cone Forest :: craft paper, tape, printed numbers.  This Advent Cone Forest has been a HUGE hit with my daughters and will definitely make an appearance next Christmas.  I decided to tape slips of paper inside each cone with a different activity written up on each one (for example: drive to look at Christmas lights, new Christmas books, making gingerbread houses, decorate cookies, etc.).

Thanks to SIMPLE mom Ginny for originally sharing this idea. Here is the link to the site eighteen25 that was my guide in this project.

Stocking3) Stockings :: until I finish making new stockings for my family this year they will not be hung by the chimney with care.  1 down and 3 to go, but I am really enjoying the results of my first Christmas stocking. In case you’re wondering, this is not a theme for our family Christmas decor.  I let everyone choose fabric and a complimentary cuff fabric for their own individual stockings.

Super thankful to FabricWorm for helping me make our Christmas stockings this year!  The link to their original post is here.

Have you found any Pinterest wins that you’ve tried this holiday season?

I’m super excited to use them again next year in case my “sew a great looking felt advent calendar” task doesn’t ever get done. lol!

Each of these have only taken one night of focus while watching TV – super easy!
