Superb blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any tips? Thank you!

Hi Lyndon, that’s exciting you are working on your own website. You could certainly get your feet wet with a free option and work you way up. I have found a lot of helpful information on Pinterest regarding blogging. There is a lot of information to learn from. I’m sorry I don’t really have any tips other then educating yourself and going for it. -Ginny

My question is for Ginny. I am considering buying the 6 pc modular sectional from Costco that she blogged about. It looks beautiful in your living room and I love the color. My husband and I are moving this coming weekend and would like to get a sofa pronto and know these things sell out. There are a limited supply at our Costco. I read from other reviews that they have trouble locking in the pieces after a while and they slide around. Is this true? How do you feel about the sectional now that you’ve had it for 6 months? How many people do you seat comfortably on it?

      Hi Mindy,
I’m glad you asked about the couch. I am still very happy with it. I have the couch on carpet so we don’t have any issue with the pieces slipping apart. They stay snug and in place. I haven’t actually clipped mine together because we do switch it around fairly often and it does stay put with our wall to wall carpet. I’m sorry I can’t speak for the clips having locking issues. A friend of mine bought the couch and she said once she added a rug under the couch, that resolved the slipping issue on the hard wood floor.
We seat our family of 5 on the couch and everyone gets their own square, plus we have an extra. When we have company over, we’ve maxed it out with 9 people, but it’s cozy. I would say that it seats 6 the most comfortably with no touching. You know how kids are…the no touching keeps the fights down. 🙂 So far it’s held up great and has cleaned up well with a damp cloth as needed. If you have any other questions…fire away! I’m happy for you that your Costco has them in stock. I hope you can make an educated decision. I must also add that it’s an incredibly comfortable couch. I fall asleep on it almost every night. I never did that on our old couch. I’m either getting old or the couch is that comfy! 🙂

        Hi Ginny,

Thanks for the thoughtful response! We are still weighing our options, but this couch is definitely a strong contender! It’s great to hear that you are still enjoying it and that it is so comfy 🙂

Hi, We have a question for Ginny about the 6 piece Costco sectional couch that she purchased. I’m trying to locate one and was wondering if she has the manufacturer name and/or Costco code number.

    Thank you,
    Gina

IT’s back in stock in the warehouse only! I just posted an update on our couch today as well! If you didn’t already find the couch, I hope it finds you this time around! It’s only in stock while supplies last.

The American Red Cross is looking to partner with a few talented bloggers – and The Simples Moms blog is very impressive.

We are regularly looking to share relevant tips for moms and wondered if your team may be interested in helping us get the word out on various topics.

This month, we’re promoting flu safety tips from the Red Cross. Given we know many moms are interested in protecting their families as well, we thought the topic may be of interest to you to promote as well.

Would you have time to hop on a quick phone call this week to talk about potentially working together for a good cause?

    Just let us know!

    Happy holidays,
