Despite the fact that I started my day in a winter coat, spring is here! And while I’m ready for the sunshine, my skin isn’t! Yep, it spent the winter getting dried out in the indoor heat and bitter cold outside. Even with amazing skin care products, my skin is ready for a refresher in the spring. It’s the perfect time to rejuvenate and pamper your skin. I spend a lot of time without makeup in the summer so I feel much more confident if my skin is looking fresh! Here are a few springtime skin care tips to get your skin ready for summer!
- Drink Water! I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. Water helps smooth fine lines and keep skin hydrated! I’m terrible about drinking water in the winter. It’s cold! I just want to curl up with a warm drink. And I tend to keep up that bad habit in the spring if I’m not on top of it! I’ve found the only way I’m even close to getting enough water is if I carry around a water bottle with me all day. Waiting until I’m home or eating a meal is not enough! A general rule of thumb is to drink half your weight in ounces of water each day. Of course, every person is different–you may find you need more or less water.
- Use Organic Products. I’ll admit, we don’t eat all organic over here. I do my best to choose healthy options and stick to a budget. So we do organic when we can. But for skincare, organic really is best. Your skin absorbs virtually everything you put on it and any chemical goes right to the bloodstream–without the benefit of being filtered by the liver like foods! Skinerals Skin Solutions has formulated 100% organic products using minerals that revitalize your skin, restoring it to it’s natural state. I’ve been using Skinerals for about a month and I’ve noticed a difference in the smoothness of my skin already. It’s so soft!
- Add an Eye Cream. If you’re just using lotion all over your face, check out your other options! I love using an eye cream and a serum at night to really spend those sleeping hours refreshing my skin! Check out all of the options at Skinerals! Since they are organic and budget friendly, you can get a serum, lotion and eye cream. And since a little goes a long way, these will last a long time! Just a half pump of the eye cream is plenty to cover my entire eye area. Skinerals even has a product for problem skin like psoriasis and eczema!
