The other evening I went to an event at my son’s school. I got so many compliments on my outfit that night that I had to share a few tips I’ve been using to help revive my closet a bit!
1. Know your style. The leggings that are adorable on everyone else make me feel frumpy. The chic boho styles that I love in just don’t work on my body type. Quite frankly, I’m a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. And that’s totally fine! Knowing that about myself makes it so much easier to find things that I love and look good on me!
2. Purge! Get rid of the things that just aren’t you. My closet and drawers are stuffed to overflowing but I wear the same things over and over again. So I’m on a mission to purge. I’ve gotten rid of a lot this year and still have more to go, but it feels great to look in a drawer and love everything in it!
3. Now that you have room and you know your style, get some expert advice! I’m talking about the Wantable Style Edit here. I’ve told you about Wantable before here and here. This time I’m filling you in on their newest hit–the style edit. A style edit is basically your own personal shopper. You fill out a style survey (includes likes/dislikes and your budget), pay a $20 styling fee (that goes toward your purchases) and they send you 5 items to try out at home. You have a few days to mull over the gorgeous options (if you’re like me, you’ll take pictures and get advice from your friends) and then decide what, if anything, you want to purchase. Read more about how it works here.
Check out the edit they sent me! To say I loved it in an understatement. The first thing I tried on was the cutest pair of raw edge skinny jeans. I LOVE jeans but it’s hard to find jeans that fit so I wear the same two to three pair over and over again. I was floored that the found a pair that I like AND fit! This is revolutionary, friends! (Yes, I kept them. Yes, they are the jeans I wore that I got so many compliments on the other night). I also three cute t-shirts. But when I say t-shirt, don’t think they are just boring white t’s! They all have super cute details like a fun pocket, a lace-up side or a cute scalloped edge. I also got a fun floral jacket and super cozy sweater with a fun ruffle down the front. And a dress appropriate to wear anywhere! I was so impressed and could not wait to wear my new clothes! I also have to tell you that they stuck to my budget and a few of the items they sent me were even on sale. Huge bonus!! Here are some styles from other Wantable style edits!
If you haven’t checked out Wantable’s style edit, waste no time! I loved it so much I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it! In the comments section, tell me more about your signature style and what you’d love to find in a Wantable Style Edit!
