Patty, the creator of Lunch Notes is a graphic designer and mom a three-year old named Tess. At lunch one day, she remembered how, as a kid, she’d find a note from her mom in her lunch each day. She thought it would be great if more kids could experience that kind of joy, so she set out to create a fun, easy, creative way for parents to write their children personalized lunch notes. After months of drawing and writing and designing, Lunch Notes was born.
My daughter is only a baby but when I talked with Laura about Lunch Notes I absolutely LOVED the idea and knew that so many parents would also love them. I remember as a kid, every now and then I would find a note tucked into my lunch box that my mom packed for me that morning, now often times I would hide that note so my friends wouldn’t make fun of me, but it always made me feel special. Laura was so kind to send me a sample of Lunch Notes which I passed along to a friend who has 3 school aged kids. She thought the “note starter” on each note was genius and really helped get the creative juices flowing and steered her away from the “Have a great day, Love Mom” note. Her kids came home after school and raved about the notes they had received from their mom that day.
While times may have changed and the grease-stained brown bag has morphed into a BPA-free plastic bento box filled with all-organic everything, give your child the same joy you once experienced as a child finding a note from your parents in your lunch box with Lunch Notes.
