thankful heart thursday :: the pause button

Thankful Heart ThursdayMy daughter has been sick this week.  I’m talking a fever, croupy cough, and more.  It’s been awful for her and for me.  Well, it’s been awful except for those times when she has fallen asleep while I’m snuggling her and I tear up a little at what a blessing I have in my arms.

I would never ever wish sickness on a child, especially my own, but give me a holla if you know what I mean about loving the extra cuddle time!!  It is such an amazing feeling to know that you are the one and only person or thing that can bring your child complete comfort and security.  That they need you.  That they want you.  That they truly truly love you!!

It’s funny how much you really appreciate that time and those feelings when your children are in school all day every day.  I’ve made it through the first couple months of school alright, but there’s not a day that goes by without me stopping in my tracks to feel how much I miss my girl while she’s away from me.  This week, even though it was for sad circumstances, I have had three whole days with my sweetness and I feel so blessed.

So, for today, I am in a way, thankful that my daughter got sick this week.  I know that sounds awful, but I know she’ll be ok and we have had a wonderful time together.  Sometimes it takes things like this to make us hit the pause button for a minute and really feel all of the blessings around us.  I’m not totally ready to hit play yet, but when I do, I will know without a doubt that I am blessed!!

What is it that you’re thankful for today??  If you share with me, I’ll share with you.  All you have to do is join the conversation!!  Share your thankful heart with me by commenting below and you’ll be entered into our monthly giveaway.  Super SIMPLE!!  It pays to be thankful!!

  1. I’m thankful that my little guys have not been sick in a few months. Mine are mostly grumpy when sick instead of cuddly. :(

  2. I have really missed my kindergartner while he is in school too.
