So, how do you all feel about little holidays that are sometimes called “Hallmark Holidays” and the like?? Some people love ’em, some people hate ’em. Well, I happen to be on the love ’em side
This past Saturday was Sweetest Day and it’s something that Mark and I have had fun celebrating since we were first dating. Now I know there is not great meaning behind holidays like this, but I love them nonetheless. Even though I know we make great efforts to be loving and thoughtful all of the time, it just doesn’t happen. Life is busy, sometimes stressful, and little loving acts sometimes get put on the back burner. I love to take advantage of these little, seemingly insignificant holidays as a way to do something thoughtful for my loves to set that day apart from all the others. The only thing wrong with that, though, is that there is only one Sweetest Day a year!! Don’t be surprised if you see a post in the near future talking about how I’ve created a Surprise “Sweeties Day” for my family once a month In the mean time, here’s how we celebrated Sweetest Day this year! So, for today, I am thankful for those little holidays that we don’t HAVE to celebrate, but we do anyways. Any chance to show a little extra bit of love is good in my book, and I think my family kinda likes it, too
