Do you ever catch yourself thinking about things in a way that’s different from how you thought about them ten years ago?? I definitely know that parenthood changes us, but I’m starting to think that some of that just comes with age, too.
The other day while I was driving, I caught myself feeling truly thankful for my brothers in my life. Being the older sister, I had always felt unconditional love for them, but this was different. I found myself thinking about each of their individual personalities and what that means in my life.
Matt is a brilliant musician, a computer genius, and a pretty darn good craftsman. More than that, though, he is loving, sensitive, and the best verbal communicator that I know. I absolutely love and cherish our talks and ALWAYS feel great after spending time with him.
Eric is also a super talented musician, an amazing photographer, and he’s pretty much a chef 😉 More than that though, he too is loving, sensitive, and a great hugger. He is a man of fewer words, but those who know him know that you can see right into his heart and mind through his eyes. No matter what we do together, I ALWAYS feel so happy after spending time with him.
Don’t get me wrong, I still have that deep unconditional love for my brothers, but it’s just changed a little now that we’re all adults. As much fun as we had together growing up, I think this part of our relationship is even better.
So, for today, I am so incredibly thankful for my two brothers and the great relationship that we have together as adults. I feel like it’s the same love, but better, and I could not ask for two more perfect men to be in my life as my best friends!!!
