Thankful Heart ThursdayHappy Thankful Heart Thursday!  Tell me if this has happened to you before.  You’re in the middle of something ordinary, when all of a sudden, you’re hit with a feeling that tells you it is anything but.  That happened to me the other day in the movie theatre and it took me kinda by surprise.

Lexi and I went to see Disney Planes the other day.  While we do watch a lot of movies, we don’t go to the theater often, so it’s always a treat!  We went during the day, just her and me and were one of just two families watching the movie at that particular time.  One of our last fun daytime activities before she heads back to school(and that is a topic I just CANNOT talk about yet, BTW! *tear*).   Before I go any further, let me tell you that the movie was AWESOME!!  It was a great underdog story with a lot of heart and we even thought it was better than Cars!!  I have a feeling we’ll be adding that one to our Disney collection at home!!  But, back to that moment I mentioned above.

Lexi and I were watching the movie and about half way through, she said she wished she could lay down to cuddle with me.  I had kinda forgotten until then that the arm rests at most theaters can be pushed up and back to make more room, so what did we do??  We moved that arm rest and even the one next to that all the way back and had some cuddle time!!  BAM!!  That was the moment I was talking about earlier.  It hit me hard while we were cuddling in the almost empty movie theater and I was immediately fully aware of just how much love I have in my heart for my little girl!!  I started tearing, of course, but did a pretty good job of hiding it so as not to spoil our moment 🙂  That moment lasted throughout the rest of the movie by the way.  AND, now I’m totally reliving it all!!!  I often poke fun at myself for being a sappy Momma, but I’m glad that I feel these feelings and appreciate these moments for just how beautiful they really are.  I am one blessed Momma and now I’m a little choked up……………….

So, for today, I am thankful for many things.  I am thankful for summer vacation.  I am thankful for movie dates.  I am thankful for the the engineering and bright minds behind the movable arm rest in the movie theater :).  And, most of all, I am thankful today for my sappy heart that allows me to fully feel and understand why these little things are all so important.  Time with my little girl is forever fleeting, and I am not going to miss a second of it!!

What is it that you’re thankful for today??  If you share with me, I’ll share with you.  All you have to do is join the conversation!!  Share your thankful heart with me by commenting below and you’ll be entered into our monthly giveaway.  Super SIMPLE!!  It pays to be thankful!!

I am thankful for my husband who recently had to start over with a new job after leaving the one he had for 31 years. He works really hard. I am thankful for my kids and their spouses that everyone is healthy and living a good life. I am thankful for my youngest son, who is almost 21, that he is going after his dream in the music industry. Of course I am so thankful for my 5 beautiful, healthy, grand daughters who I adore and are the light of my life.

I am so thankful for my wonderful husband. He is very good to me. Today he made salad for me for lunch since he knew I needed to watch my caloric intake.

But today I am especially thankful for finding hope & determination just when I needed it the most. I am a single mom and I know I can do this! I will show my son everyday that he is loved. I will help him grow to be a compassionate & wonderful man 🙂

So thankful for my kids. I have a 21 year old and a 4 year old. They are both such wonderful people. Smart, talented, beautiful and so, so kind. I am a truly blessed mama. Especially thankful that I know how fast it all goes (thanks to 17 yrs between kids) and can slow down and appreciate all the small moments with my little one 🙂
